Seven Invocations to Strengthen Your Day
In Orisa Lifestyle, iwure are invoctions. They influence spiritual energy and restore vitality and wellbeing. When we work with iwure we activate the mouth with orogbo, atare and gin, to create an energetic conduit so we can amplify that power in our physical bodies.
The mouth is and instrument that facilitates life. The tongue is its essential power point. Together, they form a link between individual life force - breath and speech - and universal cosmic energy, which we call ase.

In Orisa Lifestyle, each day is governed by a particular spiritual energy;
Olodumare assigned each day its own energy based upon the experiences of the Orisa in the garden of command. Ifa tells us that Olodumare placed the 401 Orisa in the garden of command for seven days, during which time they could invoke anything into existence. The only stipulation was that they could not make any negative proclamations.
At the end of each day, the Orisa told Olodumare about their experience. Thus, Olodumare determined the spiritual properties of that particular day. Based upon that process, we now have specific iwure - invocations - to recite for each of the seven days.
So, if you are beginning an activity on a Sunday, there are special incantations you can recite to add longevity to your endeavor. Likewise, if you're engaged in an activity on a Friday, there are words of power that can counteract the adversarial energy that predominates on that particular day.
Similarly, if you have medicines, in the form of black soap, powders, scented oils or candles, you can use words of power to amplify their potency.
For maximum results, you can also worship the deities connected to the days of the week, by chanting, making offerings or praising them on their designated days.
- Sunday is synonymous with longevity
- Monday is the day of wealth
- Tuesday is the day of victory
- Wednesday is the day of confusion
- Thursday is the day of manifestation
- Friday is the day of adversity
- Saturday is the day of three resolutions

Seven Incantations
For each of the invocations, you must sit comfortably on the floor or in a chair. For maximum efficacy, you will fist need to chew three grains of atare, a small piece of orogbo and a swig of tanqueray gin. Then, on each day of the week, recite the corresponding iwure according to the instructions:
